EU Centres Network Scholarship Funding
Instructions for Applicants
All documentation required for the application process must be uploaded as one file. This file must be A4 in size, with margins set at 3.17cm on each side. Font must be in Times New Roman and must be no smaller than 12pt. If these instructions are not followed, the application will not be considered.
Required Documentation
Thesis Proposal/Statement of Interest
This section can be no more than one page in length and must include an abstract of the project; and explain why the project is important. This section must outline the ways in which the project addresses the EU-NZ relationshiip or a specific EU related issue; as well as how the project addresses EUCN aims and objectives. If you have had EUCN funding recently, please outline in this section how you have progressed, and include evidence of publications.
For honours students, the statement of interest must include the courses that you are taking for the honours year.
Letter of Reference
This letter must be supplied in PDF form, with an original signature, and must come from an academic referee at the university you will be enrolling in or a EUCN representative.
Curriculum Vitae
This CV can be no longer than one page in length, and should be academic in nature.
Transcript
This transcript must be an academic record from your university, containing your academic history. This must either be signed and certified by the university, or by an academic supervisor.
Budget
For students applying for a research award a budget must be attached to this file. This budget is to be a maximum of one page in length, and must outline how the money will be spent and how the research award will benefit the project. Briefly indicate what the grant will be used for and provide a detailed budget of expected costs, including quotes.

Appendix B - Scholarships and Awards
The scholarships and awards that can be applied for in the EUC Network Postgraduate Scholarship round ending 23 October 2009 are as follows:
- Course Fees Scholarships of up to NZ$5,000 used to cover the fees charged at an EUC Network Partner University for the course of study being undertaken by the student. The scholarship will only cover tuition fees for the releveant course of study and does not cover other fees such as Student Association Fees and Health Levies. Hons students can apply for a scholarship for EU related course fees.
- Research Awards of up to NZ$2,000 will be awarded for direct research costs associated with the course of study being undertaken by the student.
Course Fees Scholarships and Research Awards must be paid out by the 31st Augsut 2010.
Students are not eligible for this scholarship round if they are citizens of an EU country and not permanent residents of New Zealand.
